Setting How Activities are Executed

Define a task, subprocess or call activity as a loop or multiple instance.

The type of execution determines which conditions or counters can be set:

How to proceed
  1. Click with the right mouse on the task, subprocess or call activity.

    Depending on which element you clicked on, the respective mini toolbar appears:

  2. Select the icon for the desired execution type.

    The corresponding icon is shown in the flow node.

    You can also set the execution type using the Loop Properties Type property.

    Select the icon in the mini toolbar to reset selection.

  3. Set the other loop condition and loop maximum and/or loop cardinality and cancelation condition properties in the Properties window.
  4. Jump between parallel and sequential multiple instances by activating or deactivating the Sequential Execution check box.

    The respective icon is shown in the flow node.
